John Heath built his career on a foundation of leadership, perseverance, and a strong work ethic. As a Mortgage Loan Originator and Co-Owner of KTL Performance Mortgage, he is driven to help his clients and team achieve their goals. John believes that KTL Performance Mortgage stands out in the industry because of their unwavering teamwork, relentless pursuit of excellence, and commitment to doing what’s right for their clients. He takes great pride in helping individuals and families turn their dreams of homeownership into reality.
John is a native of Delaware County, Indiana, where he was raised alongside his three brothers and one sister. Surrounded by a close-knit and supportive family, John credits much of his success to the values and work ethic instilled by his parents and relatives during his formative years.
His professional journey began in real estate, where he spent two years selling property in the mountains of Colorado. After returning home to Indiana in the late 1970s, John transitioned into the retail industry. During his 30 plus years in retail, John excelled in roles that included loss prevention, store management, and multi-store leadership. His ability to lead teams and drive results lead to success in every role that he undertook.
In 2007, John embarked on a new chapter, joining KTL Performance Mortgage as a Loan Officer. In 2009, he became a Co-Owner alongside Desteni Mason and Kristina Heath. John’s dedication to mastering the mortgage process, exploring new mortgage programs and solutions for KTL clients, and expanding KTL’s market reach have played a huge role in the success of the organization. With close to 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, John’s leadership and work ethic continue to inspire the KTL team.
In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his wife Kristina and their children and grandchildren. He has a lifelong love of basketball, and you can still find him shooting hoops several nights a week. Together, John and Kristina enjoy traveling, attending IU Hoosiers sporting events, and spending as much time as possible at their home away from home in Perdido Key, FL.
John’s favorite quote is “Don’t cry over spilt milk.” He believes there is nothing to gain by worrying or getting upset about what has happened in the past. John’s advice, and one of the keys to his personal success in life, is to always be forward-focused, learn from your mistakes, and put your efforts into “what can be” vs “what was”.
