Celebrating 20 Years: A Video Interview with KTL Performance Mortgage
Our Beginnings
KTL Performance Mortgage was founded in Darke County, Ohio in 2003. Our founders saw an opportunity in the area to support an underserved community: potential homebuyers who couldn’t obtain financing through local banks. We started small, with a small team offering one loan program.
In those early days, the pace of the mortgage industry was much different than it is today. Owner Desteni Mason recalls the early days of sitting patiently by the fax machine, waiting to hear back from a Lender on whether a loan was approved or not!
Growth & Expansion
As time passed, KTL added additional loan programs to serve our clients better. In addition to Conventional loans, we eventually added FHA, VA, and USDA. Our service area slowly spread past Darke County to include all of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Florida.
In 2009, John and Kristina Heath joined Desteni Mason as owners of KTL Performance Mortgage.
Throughout the next ten years, the KTL team continued to grow, to expand, and to learn. With the changing technological landscape, they added the ability for clients to apply online, jumped into social media, provided their clients with an app full of tools to help with the home-buying process, and made many other changes to support homebuyers.
In 2019, KTL opened a branch in Richmond, Indiana to better serve homebuyers in Wayne County and the surrounding areas. That office is managed by Mortgage Loan Originator Craig Allen.
In 2022, we expanded further into Indiana with a new branch office in Muncie, Indiana. That office is managed by Mortgage Loan Originator Zach White.
KTL Today
Today, KTL is journeying toward the future, led by owners Desteni Mason, Kristina Heath, and John Heath. The three partners actively work with homebuyers. They are joined on the KTL Executive Leadership team by Leah Dumas, Craig Allen, Zach White, Sara Maham, and Brittani Hines.
At KTL Performance Mortgage, our guiding principles are Knowledge, Trust, and Love. Our goal is to deliver an excellent homebuying experience for every client, every time. We pride ourselves on assisting homebuyers and homeowners in all stages of life.
